Welcome to BB Cattle Company!
WT “Bill” Bennett has been in the cattle business all his life, and has registered more Hereford cattle than anyone else in the world. And this year's calf crop is exceptional in its quality. BB Cattle Company has herd bull prospects out of Yankee, 1065, 3007, and two Neon sons, just to name a few. These bulls have the size and style to make great seed stock whether it is for the purebred breeder or the commercial man.

It all began for Bill at 10 years old in 1937 when he got his first calf, a Shorthorn. As he grew up in the cattle business, he had his eye set on a ranch of his own and a herd second to none. By 1957, he was in charge of beef cattle at Washington State University.

In 1963, he left WSU to partner with Harold “Feathers” Thompson of TT Herefords, the number one Mark Donald herd in the area. They marketed cattle through consignment sales until 1966 when Harold and Bill held the first production sale in the area. Since then, Bill hasn't missed a production sale and really came into his own when he started BB Cattle Co. in 1970, holding his own sale that year. As the business grew, the Bennett family created the best Hereford genetics found anywhere in the world, right at their place in Connell, Washington.

Looking forward to seeing you at the ranch or online!

CERTIFIED HEREFORD BEEF FEATURED AT
YOLK'S FRESH MARKET GRAND OPENING

Left to Right: Joe Bennett, Leslie Bennett, BB Cattle Co., Connell, WA
Andrew Brooks, CHB, LLC
Mike Reentz, National Beef

The steak sizzled on the grill and the delicious aroma wafted through the parking lot of the fourth Yolks Fresh Market store to open in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State this first week of October, 2013.  The scent enticed customers over to the Certified Hereford Beef tent where CHB representatives were offering sizzling bites of beef to the public.  Even before they entered the Market, folks were treated to barbecue grilled bites of burgundy pepper beef patties, kabobs of grilled skirt steak, perfectly grilled bites of New York Strip steak and gourmet prime rib burgers.  Upon exiting the Market, a fair number of these customers told the CHB guys that they had, indeed, purchased some of that delicious beef while shopping.

Yolks Fresh Markets have long partnered with the Certified Hereford Beef, LLC, Program, offering that familiar black logo emblazoned with the red horned Hereford bull's head and the words Certified Hereford Beef on each and every package of beef.

Attending this grand opening event and representing Certified Hereford Beef, LLC, was Andrew Brooks, Vice President of Marketing, who, along with Mike Reents, Field Marketing Manager for National Beef of Kansas City, MO, cooked and served their way through numerous packages of gourmet beef cuts.  Then, on Thursday, Bill Cox, of CX Ranch and Gary Ottley, of Ottley Herefords, joined Andrew and Mike, representing local ranchers who raise registered Hereford cattle.   On Friday, Joe Bennett and his daughter, Leslie, attended, representing the second and third generations of Bennetts raising registered Hereford cattle at BB Cattle Co., Connell, WA.  Joe's folks, Norma and Bill, have supported the CHB Program in the same manner over the years, visiting grocery outlets offering the CHB product to local customers.

The Certified Hereford Beef Program is a program that we truly believe in and these events are important opportunities to unite the public with the Hereford beef industry and its products.
